As pledged in the initial campaign Excellence by Design, our new campaign FOCUS[ED
will continue to assist existing businesses as they grow and expand, embrace responsible
growth and development with a "can do" attitude, strengthen partnerships between
local governments and civic organizations and public and private sectors and encourage,
promote, and participate in a diverse leadership environment.

FOCUS[ED will concentrate on the following strategies in order for Lawrence to
remain competitive:
- Enhance business retention and expansion programs.
- Continue efforts to foster a business friendly environment.
- Enhance business infrastructure.
- Attract and/or support targeted business, investment opportunities, and
initiatives.
- Proactively address curriculum and training needs of existing and future
businesses.
