Chamber Mission/Vision/History
The mission of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce is to promote and enhance the
economic vitality of Lawrence and Douglas County, and to be the leading advocate
on issues that will affect the economic well being of our members.
Chamber Vision:
The vision statement was created and adopted by the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors in support of a community-wide visioning effort. The vision
is a distillation of broad-based inputs from Chamber members as well as representatives
from other civic interests.
Lawrence Community Vision:
To be a vibrant and economically healthy community that satisfies the most important
needs and desires of our citizens and is recognized as one of the finest university
cities in which to live and work.
Achieving this vision will require that Lawrence excel along three
critical interdependent dimensions:
